Embroidery has become a favorite hobby of mine over the past year, so I decided to apply cartography to it, as well! Having spent the past nearly 5 years living in Madison, I have come to adore my university's little spot on the isthmus between Lakes Mendota and Lake Monona on the Yahara Lakes chain. Turns out the chain makes a nice embroidery pattern! I definitely hope to have a little more time to make embroidered maps for fun after grad school.
